About the AGCSA

The Australian Golf Course Superintendents' Association (AGCSA) was formed in 1981 to further the profession of golf course management in Australia and the Pacific Rim. Since that time the association has grown steadily in size and now boasts over 1000 members from all states of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Rim.

The AGCSA vision statement is as follows:

"The AGCSA is committed to the ongoing professional development and support of all those involved in the golf course maintenance industry"

Following on from this, the AGCSA's ultimate goal is that:  

"All golf courses have the best possible playing surfaces and adjacent environment within the limitations of available resources"

The AGCSA has a number of key areas of operation including:

• The publication of Australian Turfgrass Management Journal;
• The staging of the annual Australian Turfgrass Conference and Trade Exhibition;
• The staging of the AGCSA national roving workshop series, twice a year;
• The publication of AGCSA Action newsletter published in alternate months to ATM Journal and weekly email newsletter The Cut;
• The development and administration of the AGCSA Accreditation Program for golf course superintendents;
• The provision of a free legal advice service for members;
• AGCSATech - providing research, diagnostic services and technical advice;
• The development and provision of guidelines for employing a golf course superintendent; and
• The provision of an online job service through the AGCSA website.
