Further kudos has come the way of AGCSA superintendent member Mark Prosser and his course maintenance team at Commonwealth Golf Club this week after Golf Australia announced that the Women’s Australian Open would return to the Melbourne sandbelt club in 2011.

 

More than 1550 turf industry practitioners descended on the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre from 21-25 June for the 26th Australian Turfgrass Conference and Trade Exhibition.

 

The AGCSA is pleased to announce that after a number of rewrites and edits it has signed off on its Course Operations Induction Manual for golf club committee members and general managers (cover image pictured).

 

The AGCSA has finalised the itinerary for the post conference Turf Tour which will be held on Friday 25 June. The three sites which have now been confirmed are (please note that two of these differ from those listed in the delegate brochure produced at the start of the year):

Over the past week all current AGCSA members will have receive their membership renewal notice for the 2010-2011 financial year. It has been another eventful 12 monthds for the association and we would like to thank all members for their ongoing support.

 

The 2009-2010 AGCSA Annual Report was emailed to members last week (Thursday 20 May) and is now available for viewing through the members section of the AGCSA website. Copies of the minutes from the 2009 AGCSA AGM are also available for download from the website.

 

The conference edition (Volume 12.3, May-June 2010) of Australian Turfgrass Management is out now and features The Glades Golf Club on the front cover.

Australian Turfgrass Management Journal has had further success at the Turf and Ornamental Communicators Awards which were announced in the US last week. ATM picked up six first place awards and two merit awards for writing, design and photography in the International section.

As mentioned in recent editions of The Cut the 2010 AGCSA Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held during the 26th Australian Turfgrass Conference on the Gold Coast.
