Irrigation Divisional Manager: Agricultural Appointments

This leading family owned business is an open space specialist offering total sports field construction, irrigation and horticultural amenity management solutions. Since establishment in 1998 they have taken great pride in the quality of their work, resulting in winning many local industry business awards. Formed in 2005, the experienced professionals in the irrigation division continue to delight customers. They are looking to grow this important part of the business through the appointment of an irrigation divisional manager.
Reporting to the commercial manager with the focus on high levels of customer satisfaction, you will enjoy being responsible for:
- Divisional sales plans & budgets, marketing strategies and profitability
- Guiding and leading the team on project management
- Managing tenders and quotes
- Achieving results, ensuring work is of the highest quality
- Meeting OHS and environmental regulatory guidelines
- Providing sound technical assistance
- Training and managing 3 direct reports initially
- Reporting and following the required systems and procedures
To be successful in this exciting role, you will ideally have:
- Irrigation or relevant tertiary qualifications
- A minimum of 3-5 years experience in the specialised irrigation, golf course or sports field industries
- Proven ability in senior positions to profitably manage projects (up to $2M)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Experience managing up to 3 or more staff
- Ability to build good customer relationships
- A high work standard and be achievement orientated
- A network of existing clients
As a key member of middle management, you will be- supported by the other divisions, provided with quick management decisions and given the flexibility to lead as you see fit. There are huge opportunities to grow the division, which would be rewarded in the future through title, salary and responsibility progression.
To assist you in the role, initial training will be provided in all the key areas, in addition to the opportunity to assist in funding relevant external study. This is a role where both technical and management experience, along with the ability to “think outside the square” are required.
You will be rewarded with a starting base salary of $70 - $85K depending on qualifications and experience, uniform, phone, work vehicle (including personal use) and access to a generous bonus program.
